Simpson Thacher has appointed David Nemecek as Partner and Head of its newly created Capital Structure Solutions Practice, as the firm looks to strengthen how it supports clients navigating complex capital structure decisions.
The new practice brings together Simpson Thacher’s Liability Management and Special Situations and Restructuring capabilities into a single global team, covering areas such as financing strategy, liability management transactions, distressed M&A and Chapter 11 restructurings.
The firm also announced plans to open a Dallas office, aligned with what it described as the region’s growing base of clients, capital and talent.
