The Cologne-based legal tech startup JUPUS, led by founders René Fergen and Jannis Gebauer, has raised €6.5 million. The seed financing round was led by Acton Capital and existing investors such as High-Tech Gründerfonds and business angels. JUPUS’s software is used by law firms to automate legal tasks with artificial intelligence. The company plans to use the funds to further develop its software and grow its market presence.

JUPUS offers a fully automated AI solution for law firms that not only automates administrative tasks but also communicates directly with clients. JUPUS’ AI secretariat enables law firms to handle their processes entirely using artificial intelligence, from the initial call to the final written submission.

René Fergen, founder and CEO of JUPUS, says, “We are at the beginning of a new era for the legal market. AI will fundamentally change the way legal work is organised and executed, opening up entirely new opportunities for law firms. With JUPUS, we are leading this transformation, enabling law firms to radically simplify and accelerate their workflows. Our goal is to mitigate the growing skills shortage and free up law firm teams to fully focus on what truly matters: advising their clients.”

JUPUS covers the entire process of law firm work – from the first client contact to the final written submission. The AI software communicates directly with clients, handles administrative tasks, coordinates appointments, and creates required documents. JUPUS fully combines client communication, case preparation, and drafting pleadings in a single platform – thus fundamentally redefining law firm work.

Acton Capital, one of Europe’s leading investors in digital business models, is convinced of JUPUS’ vision and potential: ” The legal market is facing a radical change, and JUPUS is ideally positioned to lead this transformation. The team has impressively demonstrated how legal processes can be automated through the use of AI – with massive efficiency gains for law firms. We see JUPUS’s potential to set a new standard in the legal world. We are delighted to accompany the team on this journey, ” explains Fritz Oidtmann , Managing Partner at Acton Capital.
