August has launched Live Assist, a new capability designed to support lawyers in depositions and client calls by flagging potential contradictions in real time.
Live Assist joins live conversations, transcribes them with speaker labels, and cross-references statements against uploaded case materials such as prior testimony, contracts, emails and earlier call transcripts. When it detects an inconsistency, it surfaces a flag alongside the relevant source citation, creating an annotated record at the end of the conversation.
Rutvik Rau, Co-Founder and CEO of August, said: “Lawyers have always had to choose between being present in a conversation and verifying what’s being said. Live Assist means they no longer have to pick one.”
August said Live Assist is available immediately to all users at no additional cost and was built with protections for attorney-client privilege and work product, including encryption in transit and a commitment that audio is not used to train models.
