From Abroad

Travelling to London from outside the UK? Here’s everything you need to know to make your journey seamless.

London is served by several major airports, all with good rail, underground, or coach/ bus links directly into central London. The main airports are: London Heathrow (LHR), London Gatwick (LGW), London City Airport (LCY), London Stansted (STN), London Luton (LTN) and London Southend (SEN).

Each airport offers fast and regular transport services into the city, along with easy access to taxis and public transport networks.

Transfer times into central London typically range from 30 to 90 minutes, depending on your arrival airport and chosen mode of transport.

Please check your route in advance via Transport for London (TfL).

London is easily accessible from mainland Europe by train. The Eurostar service connects major European cities such as Paris, Brussels, and Amsterdam directly to London St Pancras International.

From London St Pancras, you can easily transfer to the London Underground or take a train to nearby stations to reach the InterContinental London – The O2.

The closest Underground station is North Greenwich (Jubilee Line), just a short walk from the venue.

Please check your route in advance via Transport for London (TfL).

From the UK

London is easily accessible by train from other parts of the UK, with a wide network of rail services connecting major cities directly to London’s central stations.
  • From Birmingham, Manchester, or Leeds: Direct trains run regularly to London Euston Station, with journey times typically ranging from 1.5 to 2.5 hours.
  • From Liverpool: Trains from Liverpool Lime Street to London Euston take approximately 2 hours.
  • From Edinburgh or Glasgow: You can catch a direct service from either city to London King’s Cross Station, with journey times around 4.5 to 5 hours.
  • Once in Central London, you can easily transfer to the Underground, buses, or taxis to reach the InterContinental London – The O2, the venue for LegalTechTalk.

For detailed schedules and tickets, check the National Rail website or the train operating companies for your route.

Please be aware that train services can sometimes experience delays or disruptions due to strikes or other unforeseen circumstances. We recommend checking your train service in advance and allowing extra travel time to ensure you arrive without stress.

Visas and Entry Requirements

Depending on your nationality, you may require a visa or an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) to enter the United Kingdom to attend LegalTechTalk.

Starting April 2, 2025, the UK is introducing the Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) system for visitors from certain countries. Even if you do not normally require a visa to visit the UK, you may need to apply for an ETA before travelling. Applications are simple, online, and should be submitted well in advance of your trip.

Who needs an ETA?

  • EU, EEA, and Swiss nationals
  • Visitors who don’t need a visa for short stays in the UK
  • Visitors who don’t already have UK immigration status

Check if you need an ETA or a visa by visiting the official UK Government website for the latest information: UK Visas and Immigration.

If you require a visa, we suggest applying for a Standard Visitor Visa to attend conferences, meetings, or events. We recommend starting your application process early, as processing times can vary.
