August has launched August for Agents, allowing companies’ AI agents to request legal services built and supervised by their existing law firms.
The offering is designed for agents used across areas such as procurement and sales that encounter legal questions during their workflows. Law firms can package repeatable legal work as services with defined inputs, scope and fixed pricing, which connected client agents can request without individual approval from the company.
Firms decide which questions their agents on August can answer directly and which require lawyer sign-off. They also control the materials agents can use, while August provides access controls, supporting sources and a record of each request. The law firm remains responsible for the advice and client relationship.
Thomas Bueler-Faudree, co-founder of August, said: “Companies are handing real work to agents, and those agents keep hitting questions only a lawyer should answer. With August for Agents, a client’s agent can ask its own law firm at any time, and the firm answers through a service its lawyers built and supervise.”
