CMS has announced the firmwide roll out of Harvey, a leading provider of generative AI solutions for the legal industry, reinforcing the firm’s commitment to innovation and the use of advanced technology to deliver high-quality legal services at scale.
This new chapter will see access to Harvey extended across all 21 CMS member firms in more than 50 countries, providing over 7,000 CMS lawyers and staff with access to the latest AI-powered tools to enhance efficiency, consistency and client service.
John Craske, Chief Knowledge and Innovation Officer at CMS UK, comments: “We are excited to expand our partnership with Harvey and for even more of our lawyers to use the platform. The adoption of generative AI tools across the firm has been remarkable and speaks volumes about our people’s appetite for innovation. This enthusiasm reflects our collective drive to stay ahead of the curve and deliver the highest-quality outcomes for our clients.”
Winston Weinberg, CEO of Harvey, said: “We are proud to have CMS as a long-standing customer of Harvey, and to see their decision to extend access to all of their lawyers and team members. Their commitment to scaling Harvey reflects true leadership in innovation. We’re proud to support CMS as they redefine how AI enhances legal practice worldwide.”
The adoption of Harvey has already demonstrated substantial benefits for CMS and its clients. Internal analysis shows that 93% of users have reported productivity gains equating up to 117.9 hours saved per lawyer per year. The efficiency gains of using Harvey allow the firm to reduce write-offs, help reduce the load on lawyers, offer the most competitive prices to clients and maintain profitability.
Stephen Millar, Managing Partner at CMS UK, comments: “Our lawyers are already seeing meaningful time savings, which we’re reinvesting into higher‑value work and sharper outcomes for clients.”
Jane Challoner, CMS Director of Innovation, Knowledge and Learning, adds: “Rolling out Harvey across the firm brings generative AI into the core of how we work. That means our global teams can focus on what really matters: tackling complex challenges and delivering outstanding results for our clients around the world.”
