AI adoption among residential conveyancers has doubled over the past year, with 78% of firms now using AI to assist fee earners, according to Landmark’s latest report, Paving the way for smarter residential conveyancing in 2026.
The research, based on a survey of 100 senior property lawyers and conveyancers across England, Wales and Scotland, points to a year of accelerated digital transformation across the sector.
Despite this shift, transaction timescales remain the biggest challenge, cited by 42% of respondents, with firms increasingly turning to AI and automation to improve productivity and streamline processes.
The report also highlights ongoing challenges around talent acquisition, barriers to digital transformation, resistance to early instruction, and the need for better upfront information.
