Quinn Emanuel has successfully employed TrialView’s AI to assist in its successful defence of one of the most substantial and complex fraud cases of the decade.
Under the leadership of London co-managing partner Ted Greeno and Of Counsel Adrian Forster, the team successfully defended allegations brought by Norwegian multi-billionaire John Fredriksen’s Farahead Holdings.
Working with TrialView, the Quinn legal team were able to use AI to analyse an exceptionally large and complex body of evidence and retrieve critical information with remarkable efficiency. Natural language and agentic search rapidly located key pieces of evidence from across tens of thousands of pages of material.
The allegations made against the defendants focused on a series of complex oil-trading transactions that took place over more than eight years. Using TrialView, the Quinn legal team quickly identified documentary extracts that were inconsistent with those allegations. Relevant extracts from documents – which would otherwise take hours, even days, to find – were identified in minutes.
Commenting on the nature of the data in the case, Adrian Forster, Of Counsel, noted: “One of the challenges with this case was the unstructured nature of the evidence. The allegations related to events that took place over an 8-year period starting over 15 years ago. The documents were very difficult to navigate. They included old emails, handwritten notes, spreadsheets, and technical trading data. Using TrialView, our team was able to cut through to the really important extracts that exposed many of the claimants’ assertions.”
