White Summers Caffee & James LLP, a boutique corporate law firm with offices in Silicon Valley and the Pacific Northwest, has selected August as its AI platform to support and accelerate legal work across its practice.
After evaluating multiple AI tools over several weeks, White Summers chose August to support key workflows including document analysis, contract review, and drafting. The firm is deploying the platform across its team to speed up M&A diligence, streamline contract review, and analyse governance documents.
Within the first week of adoption, attorneys and staff at White Summers were already using August in live client matters. The firm developed custom playbooks for NDA review, enabling rapid analysis of large volumes of agreements. Partners also utilised the platform’s Tabular Review feature to extract key provisions – such as assignment clauses, corporate consents, and governing law – across investment agreements, significantly reducing manual review time.
White Summers has emphasised several aspects of August’s platform that influenced its decision, including the ability to control exactly which documents and sources the AI reviews, receive cited, verifiable answers rather than generic responses, and use the system across diverse practice areas without switching tools.
The firm is also exploring August’s Microsoft Word integration, which will allow attorneys to modify precedents and apply changes directly within their working documents.
