Hogan Lovells appoints new Chief Information Officer

Hogan Lovells announced the appointment of Paul Gilford as the firm’s new global Chief Information Officer (CIO), effective 26 January 2026. Paul will be based in the firm’s London office.

Paul joins Hogan Lovells with extensive experience leading technology transformation programs across international law firms and professional services organisations. His previous roles include senior positions at DLA Piper, Azets, and McKinsey, where he led efforts to strengthen technological infrastructure, advance cloud-first strategies, enhance security frameworks, and guide organisations through periods of significant technological change.

As CIO, Paul will work closely with Mark Brennan, the firm’s Global Managing Partner for Digitalisation, and Sebastian Lach, Co-CEO of ELTEMATE, the firm’s joint legal tech venture, to continue advancing the firm’s AI strategy and to lead the execution of our Technology Roadmap, including the firm’s transition to a fully cloud-based environment.
