Spellbook has appointed Meltem Kuran-Berkowitz as its first Chief Marketing Officer, following several months leading the company’s marketing function on an interim basis.
Kuran-Berkowitz joins from Deel, where she spent five and a half years as Head of Growth. She joined the company in 2020 when it was generating less than $1 million in revenue and remained as it grew beyond $1 billion in annual recurring revenue, leading growth teams across multiple regions and product lines.
The appointment comes during a period of expansion for Spellbook, which says its customer base has grown from around 2,700 to 5,000 in-house teams and law firms over the past year. Kuran-Berkowitz will lead growth and marketing as the company expands its product offering for in-house legal teams globally.
Scott Stevenson, CEO of Spellbook, said: “We’ve scaled our original product: AI contract review, massively. Now we’re transforming into an end-to-end suite for agreements in the enterprise, and Meltem is the perfect operator to bring us to the next level of scale.”
