Cognia Law is using Telescope, a legal matter management platform, to manage the evolving scope of a repapering project for one of South Africa’s Big 4 banks.

Cognia says it is using the platform to translate its original pricing and resource estimates into trackable metrics across every phase and work stream. It has integrated the matter with its time keeping tool, models timelines and resource scenarios to test the commercial impact of scope changes before agreeing to them, and uses Telescope’s consulting offering as a sense check on dependencies and assumptions.

Cognia describes the project as a test of value-based pricing, which it says only works when scope is transparent.

Aaran Scott, Founder of Telescope, said: “Telescope provides clients real-time visibility into scope, budget consumption, resource allocation, and delivery progress across every phase of a matter. That transparency creates earlier, more informed conversations about change, enabling stakeholders to make confident decisions before commercial risk materialises.”
