Coupa has acquired Tonkean, an AI-native intake and orchestration platform, as it looks to expand its autonomous workflow automation capabilities across its global trade network.
The company said the acquisition strengthens its ability to deliver integrated agentic workflow automation for buyers and suppliers, combining Tonkean’s orchestration technology with Coupa’s spend management platform and broader AI strategy.
Tonkean brings a no-code process builder and more than 250 native connectors, enabling organisations to automate complex workflows and coordinate AI agents across systems. Coupa said the acquisition builds on its recent purchases of Cirtuo, Scoutbee and Rossum as part of its wider push into agentic trade and autonomous spend management.
Leagh Turner, CEO of Coupa, said: “With the acquisitions of Rossum and Tonkean, in short order, we have now amassed all the assets to make this promise possible for both buyers and suppliers.”
