Jus Mundi has opened a private beta of arbitrator search capabilities in Jus AI, its agentic AI platform for international arbitration. The feature is designed to help counsel, parties and institutions identify and assess potential arbitrator candidates.
Building on Jus Connect’s profiles of arbitration professionals and its Conflict Checker tool, it aims to take practitioners from the facts and issues of a case to an evidence-supported shortlist of candidates. Jus Mundi says it is not intended to automate appointments or replace formal conflict checks or disclosure obligations.
The beta will run for around three months. Jus Mundi plans to invite members of its Mission Committee and organisations including the Equal Representation in Arbitration Pledge and Arbitral Women to test the approach, including its risks of bias or misrepresentation.
“Arbitrator selection is one of the most consequential, and least supported, decisions in any arbitration. Practitioners have long relied on reputation, personal networks and informal exchanges with colleagues to identify potential candidates,” said Jean-Rémi de Maistre, CEO and Co-Founder of Jus Mundi.
