Legora has announced the acquisition of Qura, a Stockholm-based legal research company, as part of its efforts to expand its AI-native platform for legal professionals.
The acquisition is aimed at strengthening Legora’s legal research capabilities, with Qura’s technology designed to support structured, AI-driven analysis of legal data across multiple jurisdictions. Legal research remains a complex area for AI, with much of the underlying data fragmented or held within proprietary systems.
“Legal research will be a cornerstone of the legal AI stack, and Qura has built one of the most impressive foundations in the world,” said Max Junestrand, CEO & Co-Founder of Legora. “We evaluated legal research startups globally, and Qura stood out by a wide margin.”
Qura, founded in 2023, has developed AI-native legal databases and systems aimed at improving the accuracy of legal reasoning. The company has expanded internationally, including deployments across multiple jurisdictions in competition law.
